Salon Debonaire Named a Salon of Distinction in SALON TODAY Magazine’s “Salons of the Year” Competition

First time in six years that a Virginia-based salon has received high honor

WHAT: Salon Debonaire in Richmond has been named as a Salon of Distinction in the nationally acclaimed “Salons of the Year” interior design competition sponsored by SALON TODAY, the leading business publication for the professional salon industry.

The salon and spa distinguished itself among approximately 100 qualified entries after investing $250,000 in new flooring, lighting and salon equipment in order to exhibit a calm, natural aesthetic throughout the salon.

Salons were judged in six design categories: Use of Color, Lighting, Flooring, Efficient Use of Space, Consistency of Design and Overall Aesthetics. The salon is featured in the June 2011 issue of SALON TODAY magazine.

WHO: The salon and spa, owned by Deborah Lee, was founded in 1990 in the West End. Salons competing in the annual “Salons of the Year” competition were either newly constructed or remodeled salons that opened between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2010. Deborah Lee is available for interviews to further elaborate on her story.

WHY: Salon Debonaire is the only Virginia-based salon honored this year. The last salon in Virginia to make the Salons of the Year was Nesbit Salon in Richmond in 2005. This award is usually given to salons located in larger markets and is a huge honor for a Richmond-based salon.

WHEN: Salons of the Year honors occur annually every June. There are always 20 salons honored – one grand-prize, three runners-up and 16 Salons of Distinction.

WHERE: 8514 Patterson Avenue
Richmond, VA 23229

Salon Debonaire welcomes the media for tours of the newly-renovated salon and spa.
